The new trailer for HBO’s sci-fi series Westworld may fool you at first – it looks like a very talented commercial for a highly sophisticated technology company called Insight. You will not see any Westworld stars such as Aaron Paul, Evan Rachel Wood, or Ed Harris.
But it’s a trailer that brings viewers right into the universe of Westworld, just as Insight and commercially portrayed speaker Liam Dempsey Sr. (Jefferson Mayes) are real. In a way, it is as scary as any dramatic scene drawn from the actual show itself.
Dempsey has promised viewers, through Insight, that “he will find a career.” Explain, they also assured that what they do is “Silicon Valley vaporware.”
Insight is not Delos, the company that created the robots and theme parks featured in seasons one and two – so what is it?
Dempsey also states that “The world is complex, messy but not for life. You drive the future, and we know you. You are different.”
He speaks of Insight’s “unprecedented computing capabilities,” which analyze data related to “life’s most unimaginable problems.”
“We all together can protect our climate, and we can find a career that you can be excited about,” he says in a wry voice, “The possibilities are limitless. With Insight, the only option that you have to make is us. ”
So, is Westworld season 3 about a dazzling, beautiful take dystopia in which technology controls everything? Matrix-like reality?
We are sure that it will premiere sometime in 2020. In the meantime, Insight is a realistic-looking website if you dare.
Is it a rival of Delos, a company that makes Vestos robots and theme parks? A close-up of the eyeball indicates that the Insight also transplants your memories into artificial life forms.
